Hi everyone:

We are pleased to invite you to the AGM of the Toronto ECC Branch. The meeting will consist of two parts, a hybrid meeting in the Auditorium (or virtually) and a lunch at 168 Sushi at the northwest corner of Dufferin and Steeles. It is required that you RSVP for the lunch portion so we can give the restaurant the expected number of attendees.

The guest speaker is Waheed Khan, President, PIPSC National Consultation Team for ECCC. Waheed will talk about consultation in the department, career progression issues, Canada Life and other issues of interest to members.

The following positions on the Toronto Environment Branch Executive are up for election:

Treasurer
Secretary
Member-at-large: 5 positions

Executive positions are open to PIPSC members at ECCC-Downsview and IAAC-Toronto. To run for a position please email Jeremy Wentzell (Jeremy.Wentzell@ec.gc.ca).

Alternatively, you can submit your name from the floor of the AGM. There's no need for a seconder.

We will vote on an update to the Branch Bylaws at this AGM. The edits are mostly minor wording changes to update our bylaws to meet PIPSC’s recommendations for branches. We are also proposing a switch from 2 to 3 year terms for the Executive.

The AGM addresses the business of the Branch along with it being a social event to encourage discussion of union issues between members, the Branch Executive, and Stewards in a relaxed atmosphere. Please reserve the date in your calendar and inform your supervisor that you will be attending.
