Notice of Annual General Meeting for PIPSC North Central Vancouver Island (NCVI) Branch, for members located in Campbell River - Comox - Courtenay - Duncan - Ladysmith - Lake Cowichan - Lantzville - Lazo - Nanaimo - Nanoose Bay - Northern Vancouver Island - Parksville - Port McNeill - Port Hardy - Port Alberni - Pt. Alice - Tofino - Ucluelet – Wellington.

Date: Wednesday, May 1, 2019

Location: Royal Arbutus Room, Building 300, Vancouver Island University, Nanaimo or by Video-conference

Time:   5:00 p.m. Cash Bar

5:30 p.m. Business

6:30 - 9:00 p.m. Dinner & Continuing Business

Speaker: Robert MacDonald, Director, PIPSC BC and Yukon on BC on trends in workplace grievances in BC, and employment relations basics from a PIPSC perspective, and how unions contribute to workplace democracy and harmony.

The Branch will reimburse the $4 parking fee, upon arrival.  No other travel expenses will be covered.

Register your attendance at the AGM by April 15 with jennifer.mollins@dfo-mpo.gc.ca, with your name and workplace, if you intend to come in person or via videoconference, if you are bringing guests, and any dietary requirements. 

Guests may be accommodated for $25 each, depending on space.  There is no cost for PIPSC members to attend.

NOTICE OF ELECTION

The Branch’s purpose is to engage members in the region, providing information, support and advocacy.  Nine positions are up for election: president, treasurer and 7 members at large. Regular members and retired members are eligible. To run, contact the Election Committee at fortc@shaw.ca and diana.mchugh@dfo-mpo.gc.ca .
