Abraham Gomez Vidales - NRC-RO/RCO
My name is Abraham Gomez Vidales. I am working at the National Research Council of Canada as a Research Officer in the Energy, Mining, and Environment Research Centre. My expertise spans cutting-edge topics such as hydrogen production, microbial fuel cells, supercapacitors, and biosensors.
I earned my BSc in Chemical Engineering from the Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico) before earning my MSc in Chemical Engineering at the University of Twente (the Netherlands) and my Ph.D. in the same field fromMcGill University (Canada).
I applied to this executive position since I am confident that I can substantially impact this union. I am a good listener who understands my peers' issues and works to put their ideas into action.
As an executive member, I will work for greater diversity on the NRC, and I look forward to serving other colleges to promote an even stronger and more cohesive union. Particularly, I would like to focus on new employees. I want to develop a sense of community, as well as a deeper connection with our union. I believe my outgoing, friendly personality would positively impact each member in regard to being available as a resource they can easily refer to. Thank you.
