- What are your family goals/ values for the quality of life for frail elderly family members?
- Learn what is available under OHIP and what services can be purchased
- When is it time to consider a nursing home?
- Is power of attorney really necessary?
Presenter: Beverlee McIntosh is a retired social worker who worked in Geriatric Medicine and Rehabilitation for over 25 years. She is a director on the Social Work in Ageing and Gerontology Advisory in Ottawa and is a volunteer on the Board of Directors for the Funeral Co-operative of Ottawa as well as a volunteer speaker for the Alzheimer’s Society of Ottawa, speaking to caregivers who are caring for someone with dementia. She will share information that can help caregivers to plan ahead and to access the right services at the right time for frail elderly.
