RE Group - Emily Macdonald

I am an archivist (Historical Researcher) at Library and Archives Canada in Ottawa, where I started in 2013. I have been a member of our RE sub-group executive since 2014, and the group’s secretary since 2017.  I also became a steward last year.

I would like to be a part of the group executive because I feel that I have benefited from a union presence throughout my career.  During my time as a student, contractor, casual, and finally as a permanent employee for the government, I have seen the importance of stronger unions, and I want to continue to promote that influence across the government. 

I would like to help support members the way I have been supported, and I believe that serving as a member of the group executive is an excellent way to do so.
