KINGSTON BRANCH NEWSLETTER – HOLIDAY EDITION 2025
Dear Members,
As 2025 comes to a close, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the year we’ve shared and thank each of you for the role you play in making our Branch stronger. This year has been filled with growth, connection, and new opportunities to support one another.
Looking Back on 2025
Labour Day Parade & Market (September) – For the first time in many years, the Kingston Branch proudly joined the Labour Day Parade and Market. It was a fantastic day to connect with our community and show our union spirit.
Member Appreciation Night at Raxx (End of September) – We hosted a Member Appreciation event at Raxx, which was a great success! It gave us the chance to celebrate our members and all the incredible work you do.
Staff Wellness Fairs (Fall) – Three institutions successfully participated in Staff Wellness Fairs this fall, providing valuable resources, support, and community connections for members and staff alike.
Brockville Member Meet & Greet (October) – While this event was unfortunately cancelled due to low registration, we remain committed to engaging with our members east of Kingston. We’d love to hear your ideas on how we can better connect and support you in 2026—please reach out and share your suggestions.
Family Christmas Party (November) – Our Family Christmas Party was a wonderful success! Families enjoyed food, fun, and festive cheer—truly a special way to celebrate the season together. We were thrilled to have our very special guest, Santa, join in the festivities. This year, we were also able to help high school students in our community earn hours toward their mandatory volunteer requirements. We sincerely thank the students for their time, energy, and help in making the event such a success. In addition, the raffle prizes, generously sponsored by Otter Creek Kitchen, 23 and Co, Toast and Jam, Modern Crystallization, and Vinyl Freak Designs, raised over $XXX for the Partners in Mission Food Bank—a heartfelt way for our Branch to give back to our community during the holiday season.
Looking Ahead to 2026
The Kingston Branch is excited to build on the momentum of 2025. In the new year, we will continue to:
- Host a Steward Appreciation Night in February to recognize the dedication and hard work of our Stewards.
- Gather for our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in March, where members will have an opportunity to help shape the future of our Branch.
As always, Branch elections will be held, and we would love to see some fresh new faces join our team. Getting involved is a great way to make your voice heard, contribute fresh ideas, and help guide the direction of our Branch moving forward.
- Strengthen communication with members and expand opportunities for engagement.
- Support community events that reflect our values and showcase our union pride
A Special Thank You
To our dedicated Members, Volunteers, and Executive team – thank you for the time, energy, and passion you bring to keeping our Branch strong. None of this would be possible without you.
Happy Holidays
On behalf of the Kingston Branch, we wish you and your loved ones a safe, joyful, and restful holiday season. May the New Year bring health, happiness, and continued solidarity.
Warm regards,
Leasha Fuller
President, Kingston Branch
