September 7th, 2023 – 12 to 1 pm

1. Approval of Agenda
· Add two items after Agenda item 6:
1. Issues with new the medical/dental insurance plan.
2. PIPSC picnic.
2. Approval of July 20th, 2023 executive meeting minutes
· Minutes of the previous meeting approved by all.
3. Bargaining update
1. Pay Proposal: No new bargaining update. Met with Treasury Board in June and July. Close to a tentative agreement but some issues still remain to be ironed out (i.e., with pay proposals). Pay proposals from last bargaining session will be posted soon and email will be going out (delays with approvals with what can be communicated and translations). Next meeting is scheduled for September 19-21st.
4. Text message communications
· PIPSC wanted to try text messaging again but SP Bargaining team was not comfortable with all what PIPSC wanted to do with text messages within the time frame of it being rolled out.
5. Job Descriptions
· Still updating job descriptions between CIPO management representative (Serge Meunier) and the 3 PIPSC stewards (Donald Lefebvre, Marcel Beaudoin and Akid Azfar). There is a 3rd party contactor that is supposed to update the job descriptions but meetings have been delayed due to various reasons.
6. OSH Committee
· Marcel is the representative on the OSH committee. One hour meetings are held once every month.
7. Issues with the medical/dental insurance plan (new administrator Canada Life)
· Poor communications with what generic drugs are being covered and what being substituted compared to previous plan and still have issues with implementation with what medications being covered. Delays in getting claims approved.
· Treasury Board is pressuring Canada life to increase staffing so assessment of claims are not delayed beyond what is promised.
· For members having issues, email Jennifer Carr to bring to her attention of issues with the medical/dental plan.
8. PIPSC Picnic
· Sponsored by NCR and Tunney’s pasture subgroups.
· Funding from 50 Victoria subgroup for members attending the picnic still to be worked out.
9. Round Table
· Marcel updated the exec members that with regards to lunch meeting expenses being submitted via PIPSC CONCUR: they are still working how to submit them (i.e., without creating events in Concur so meeting ID’s can be created for expense submissions).
· Next meeting October 5th, 2023.
§ Action: Reg to send out meeting request for
· Plan for a virtual 50 Victoria Street SP group AGM to be held on 5th December 2023
§ Action: Adam to create poster/email for the AGM.
§ Action: Reg to find out and forward what positions are up for elections to Adam.
§ Action: Marcel to run the elections and will confirm if a bargaining team member will be available for a short presentation.
