Vancouver SP Sub-Group: 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Meeting Details

Date: Tuesday, December 2, 2025

Time: Social 5:45 PM to 6:30 PM; Dinner/Meeting 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

Location: Rogue Gastown – The Den – 601 W Cordova St. Waterfront Station.

Guest Speakers: Ira Hill, Prairies/NWT Regional Representative and Delegate Coordinator, SP Group Executive.

If after registering for the AGM you are no longer able to attend, please notify us at spvansubgroup@gmail.com or update your registration on the above google form. Cost for ‘no-shows’ may be passed along to the registered member.

Please note this is a business meeting for Sub-Group members only. Dinner is limited to the first 30 who RSVP to attend in-person. Members can also attend on-line.

Call for Nominations – Notice of Elections

Please be advised that four (4) executive positions for the Vancouver SP Sub-Group, each with two-year terms, will be up for election this year (ending in 2027). Roles and responsibilities can be found in the Sub-Group Constitution and By-Laws https://pipsc.ca/groups/sp/subgroups/sp-vancouver/bylaws

 

Nominations may be:

  • Submitted in advance by the self-nomination option in the AGM RSVP form via https://forms.gle/tkw81dm3wzN6GP9AA
  • Submitted in advance of the AGM by email to the Chair of the Elections Committee (Tim Powers) at tpowers@telus.net; or,
  • Received during the AGM on December 2nd.

Proposed Changes to the Constitution and By-Laws

Anyone wishing to propose changes to the Vancouver SP Sub-Group’s Constitution and By-Laws (e.g., the election procedures) are welcome to do so. The Constitution and By-Laws outline the requirements that need to be met with respect to any proposed changes to the same. https://pipsc.ca/groups/sp/subgroups/sp-vancouver/bylaws

Per By-Law 8.1.1, the Branch Executive is recommending the Branch AGM approve the following addition to the Branch By-Laws.

7.4 Following the election, at their first executive meeting, the elected Branch Executive members shall determine among themselves who will fill the roles of President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
