Dear PIPSC members,

I’m humbly seeking your support to elect me for the IT Group executive as a member at large. It has been an interesting and rewarding journey for me with the union work thus far. Here is a brief background of my involvement in the past decade:

Active Steward (2015-Present)
Executive, IT Ottawa West Subgroup (2016-Present)
Treasurer, IT Ottawa West Subgroup (2016)
Communication Officer, IT Ottawa West Subgroup (2017)
Member-at-Large, Ottawa West Branch (2022-Present)
President, IT Ottawa West Subgroup (2019-Present)
Communication Officer, ESDC Consultation Team (2024)

Member first
It’s through working side by side with the members that I understand what are the most important things that the members care about. It’s through being compassionate about one’s situation that I can provide the best service to the members at the time of asking. “Be there, listen and take action!” has always been my model when it comes to member services.

Collaboration
As the president of the second largest Subgroup under IT Group, I have learned many valuable lessons throughout the different transitions of the constituent body. I truly believe that teamwork is the key to success. I stay open minded, respectful, and work with criticism to better myself in all challenges. Understanding one’s strength and collectively maximizing the value gained result. “Teamwork makes the dream work!”

Engagement
As we’re moving into the new era with artificial intelligence, remote working and work life balance, innovative ideas are needed to adapt to all the new challenges we face with the dispersed relationship among us. Effective decision making, timely communication, and transparent expectations can create a sense of connection and remove information silos. “Sharing is caring!”

As elected IT Group executive, I will try to dedicate myself to the following areas:
- TBS co-managed IT Training and Development Fund
- IT member issues with Return to Office or any others
- Next IT Collective Bargaining
- Visible minority and cultural discrimination

Vote for Action! Vote for Change!
