Muhammad Alam, CPA

The PIPSC Election this year is particularly noteworthy; the pandemic has significantly changed our norms. I hope you and your loved ones are safe and adjusting well. You probably know me best from my involvement as an active AFS sub-group and OCB executive. I always resonated your voice in all possible PIPSC forums and I feel incredibly responsible for the members’ well-being.

Achievements:

  • Member of CPA, Ontario
  • An active steward for over 18 years
  • Currently, Vice-President, HQ-AFS Sub-group, 2018 to-present
  • Director HQ-AFS Sub-group, 2009 to-present
  • Director Ottawa Centerville Branch, 2012 to-present (except 2014&2015)
  • Director AFS Sub-group Toronto-west TSO, 2004 to 2008
  • Director TWTSO Branch, 2004 to 2008
  • Member PIPSC National Election Committee, 2015

My two primary principles; I believe and promote members’ participation in the PIPSC activities and raise my voice against spending funds that may not benefit members. To echo your voice at the National level, I decided to run for HQ-Regional Representative’s position. I aim to continue striving for improvements in our union to realize the dreams of our fore-father, the PIPSC’s founders, 100 years ago.

All PIPSC members put lots of confidence in the AFS group as a harbinger and forerunner, spearheading improvements regarding members employment and welfare, and negotiating for appropriate benefits, including pension. I will endeavour to keep our priorities straight. Collectively, we must draw appropriate conclusions from the past, to make right policies for the future. With the right leadership at Group level, we would be able to fortify confidence in our membership and take full advantage of future opportunities. This is the only sustainable route from austerity to prosperity.

Today, I am asking for your vote. Should you elect me, I will listen to your concerns and work diligently for a stronger AFS-(AU/CS) voice.

Please stay safe!
