Laura White
Laura has been a member of the College of Dietitians of Alberta since 2013. She left her first Dietitian role with Alberta Health Services and Blood Tribe Department of Health to complete an MSc in Nutrition for Global Health. After working in international health for a few years, she returned to Edmonton in 2017 to work for Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) as the Regional Nutritionist for First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB).
In this role, she leads a team of four other Dietitians supporting First Nations across Treaty 6, 7, and 8 in Alberta. She also works closely alongside nurses, doctors, pharmacists and other SH members in her role at FNIHB. Since the start of the pandemic, she has also been the FNIHB lead for Community Liaison Teams in the region. This role has included the management of staff from unions outside of PIPSC.
At the start of 2021, Laura joined the Young Professionals Network executive of ISC as the Alberta Regional Representative. She is interested in joining the PIPSC-SH exec as a Member at Large to represent the views of young professionals in the public service and those of health professionals working in the Prairies.
