Bargaining Briefing:

The SP Bargaining Team has now met three times with the employer and we continue to make progress on our proposals. Our proposals were developed after consultation with the membership through the bargaining survey, bargaining conference, feedback from subgroups, consultation with EROs, and direct discussions with members. These discussions and desires have to be weighed against various factors including member support, achievability, speed at reaching a deal, and available data and justification. We are proud of the justified, articulate, and reasonable proposals that we put forward. We are pushing hard for a contract to be signed before this election, and we continue to feel it is possible. That said, we will require commitment from Treasury Board. We will not sign a quick contract at the expense of a fair contract. Regular updates on bargaining are being posted on https://www.pipsc.ca/groups/sp, as well as sent by email. You can help us achieve a positive result this round by pledging your support to the Do Better campaign, holding bargaining information sessions (coffee breaks or lunch and learns), and expressing, on/at your performance appraisal that you deserve a contract, and your support for any particular SP or central table priorities. Thank you for your engagement and continued support in achieving improved working conditions, and compensation. These efforts demonstrate a commitment to a workforce capable of providing the highest level of service to Canadians. We expect our employer to show the same commitment that we do. Do Better!
