It is with a profound sense of sorrow and regret that the Institute informs you of the passing of our friend and colleague, Michael Seiden.
Mike passed away on July 4, 2017.
Mike’s commitment to Institute members was deep and unwavering. He will be missed.
Mike served Institute members with distinction in a number of capacities over many years, notably as a union steward in the Toronto and North York Tax Services offices of the Canada Revenue Agency.
As a PIPSC steward, Mike was very active and a champion of many union causes – pensions, universal health care funding, and PSHCP health care premiums.
For many years, Mike served on the Executive of the Retired Members Guild and as a delegate to the Institute’s Annual General Meeting.
Under his leadership as founding President, the Greater Toronto Area Chapter of the Retired Members Guild became one of the largest chapters in Canada.
The Institute extends its condolences to Mike’s family and to the many friends who were privileged to know him.
