The Pay Equity Committee has resumed meetings after the employer initialized an RFP for a consultant to assist on the committee. We met with KPMG and were provided a demonstration of the pay equity tool that they utilize.

The committee had already created job classes which include similar duties, responsibilities, qualifications, and the same compensation plan within the same range of salary rates. These job classes can be modified once we have gathered sufficient information. To do so, we may create a Job Information Questionnaire (JIQ) in which selected incumbents would be chosen to complete the JIQ. This allows the committee to have a better understanding of the work that you do. This is not a performance appraisal. The information is used solely for the purpose of pay equity in accordance with the Act.

The same JIQ is provided to each participant regardless of their position. Without participation in the job gathering process, we are left with a lack of information to conduct the pay equity process effectively. Once we have gathered the information, our next step is to evaluate the work.

We appreciate your time if you are chosen to participate in completing a JIQ.
