Dear members,
We would like to update you on the progress of the negotiations for our next collective agreement. Since our last update, we met with the employer in May and June to continue the discussions.
I am happy to report that there is significant goodwill and engagement at the table from both parties, and that progress is being made on some non-monetary issues. We also presented our pay demands at the June meeting, which were well received and led to interesting discussions.
One of our demands in this package is to obtain, at a minimum, the economic increase amounts that are part of other unions’ tentative agreements. We are further pushing other demands for improved conditions, both monetary and otherwise.
The next scheduled meetings are in September and October. Our objective, as always, is to obtain the best and fairest deal for you, our members.
