CS Vote 2019 - Michael Vincent

Michael Vincent – Résumé - for Member-at-Large

My fellow CS Members,

I seek your vote for a Member-at-Large position on the National Executive in this upcoming election.

Although I have not previously held a position on the National Executive, I bring to the table 8 years of Union involvement, lots of fresh ideas, and a very bright outlook.

I have been an active Steward since 2012, and involved in the following:

  • Current member of the National CS Bargaining team.
  • Member of the Bargaining Proposals Committee
  • 3 years member of the Ottawa-West CS Subgroup, (Member at Large, Vice-President, Treasurer)
  • 4 years member of the Ottawa-East CS Subgroup, (Member at Large, Vice-President, President)
  • Member of NOC-ROC for 2 years

I have passionately fought for CS members interests in any way that I could. From representing CS members at the table as part of the National CS Bargaining Team, bringing your concerns to various Sub-Group Presidents meetings, being a delegate representing you at the PIPSC & CS AGM’s, organizing events for members in my region, to helping individuals in their workplace.

We all have a shared goal: Ensure that we have a great workplace, with fair pay, and great working conditions. As a union, this is what we are collectively fighting for.

As a Steward, as a member of the Ottawa West CS sub-group, and as part of the National CS Bargaining team, I feel privileged and honoured to be able to represent members in our united quest.

If elected to the National Executive, I pledge to work for you as part of the Executive to:

  • Be your voice at the National Executive to ensure each and every one of you is heard;
  • Provide better and more efficient communications between the CS Group and its members;
  • Build a more united front that sends a clearer message to members, to ultimately strengthen our united stand as CS;
  • Better relate to and engage with new members, young and old.

I strongly believe that in order to achieve these goals, you need a representative at the National Executive who is willing to think outside of the box, who is not afraid to stand up and speak their mind, who is willing to break with the status quo, and who is committed to work as part of a team to implement new ideas and to ensure that these ideas become reality.

I believe I represent those qualities and I certainly have the willingness to represent all members and bring these ideas and changes forward at the national level.

I cordially invite you to vote for me, to infuse some new blood into the National Executive, and to enable me to champion these initiatives, to help make the CS group stronger, more engaged with the membership, and ultimately to reach our collective goal of a better workplace.

If you've ever asked yourself "What does my union do for me?" Let me help show you what the answer to that question could be.

Should you have any questions, please contact me at: vincentm@pipsc.ca

Sincerely,

Michael Vincent
