CS Vote 2019 - Eva Henshaw

Eva Henshaw - Résumé - for Member-at-Large

I am running and seeking your support for the position of member-at-large for the CS Group National Executive.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Member of CS National Executive since 2013
  • Bargaining Team member
  • Employee Wellness Support Plan Technical Committee Representative
  • Employee Wellness Support Plan Advisory Team Representative
  • Representative for MOA on Contracting Out
  • CS Group member of PIPSC for 21 years
  • President of the Annapolis Valley CS Sub-Group
  • PIPSC Steward since 2006 involved in various PIPSC and CS Group activities

Since being elected to the Executive in 2013, I have had the privilege of serving as Classification Officer, Consultation Representative and now the Contracting-Out Officer, which was created off my suggestion.  I have worked on various projects associated with each of those positions and carried out the CS 2016 Proud2B awareness game.

I am proud to have designed a Contracting Out Action Plan that I am currently seeing through after being successful in gaining PIPSC support.  Although in the infancy of the plan, we are causing waves within the departments and they are recognizing that they have to meet the requirements of our collective agreement.

As a member of the Bargaining Team for the last round of negotiations, I found the work to be challenging but educational.  I have a new appreciation for those that volunteer in that role and I believe in the cause. The CS national executive voted for me to take on the new sick leave plan (Employee Wellness Plan) and I am making a difference at the table with the employer on this important issue that will affect many public servants.  I feel very privileged to represent you at this round of negotiations.

Ever since I became active in PIPSC, I have had a strong voice representing CSs; and I’ve had great opportunities discussing, debating, and listening to members at events.

For those of you who know me, I do not shy away from work and we have a lot of work to complete against the major challenges, including contracting out and our new classification implementation. You have my word that I am dedicated to carrying out the work of the CS Group and representing you in the best way possible.

I believe the time has come to make a huge impact in showing our employer that the CS Group is strong, capable and willing to do what it takes to protect our jobs, our work and the public interests.

I believe in us and the work we do.

Proudly CS since 1998
