Your Bargaining Team is very pleased to present the ratification package in preparation for voting on the new tentative agreement!
As you are aware, in the early hours of May 25, 2019 a tentative agreement was signed with the Employer, completing this round of negotiations. We again thank all the members of the AV Group for their support in getting to a deal!
This agreement must now be ratified by the AV membership. An electronic vote will be held in order to ratify this agreement. All regular members in good standing will receive the voting instructions by email. The voting will be open for a period beginning July 10, 2019 and closing on July 29, 2019, at 12:00 pm (Noon EST). Please ensure your membership information is up to date.
Important Information:
You will be invited to join a town hall discussion on July 9, 2019 to discuss the tentative agreement. You will receive a separate communication with the details.
There will be other community events scheduled where the team can answer questions from the membership regarding the proposed amendments to the collective agreement. Please keep an eye out for any events in your local area.
It is important that you take the time to review everything prior to voting and prior to asking questions to the Bargaining Team. You will find all the information below:

A Yes vote means: You are accepting all of the changes proposed in the tentative agreement. Those changes will take place at the date of the signing (except as otherwise noted) and the employer will have a period of 180 days or 560 days to implement them (this includes any retro pay) depending on the agreement on retro pay between the Institute and the Employer. We expect that this agreement to be implemented within the 180 day period and not require additional interventions.
A No vote means: You reject the tentative agreement and instruct the AV Bargaining Team to pursue further negotiations, with a high likelihood of heading to arbitration and a settlement after the upcoming election.
The Bargaining Team unanimously recommends the acceptance of this tentative agreement.
In Solidarity,
Your Bargaining Team
