Marvin Magana
Dear fellow members:
It is my pleasure to introduce myself, my name is Marvin Magana and I work as a CS in the Deskside support group at the Fraser Valley Tax Services Office. I have been a PIPSC member since 2009 and a steward since 2011. On the lighter side, I am a father of two lovely children (a boy and girl), husband to an amazing wife of 24 years, an amateur musician, singer and song/poem writer.
During my time as a steward I have held various different roles, including but not limited to: treasurer AFS Burnaby (2015-2016), vice president AFS Burnaby (2016-2018) and BC Yukon Regional IT President (October 2016 – Present). I am asking for your vote to become your next National Consultation CS Representative not because I believe our current incumbent is doing a bad job but because I offer a fresh new perspective and endeavor to build upon what has already been established.
If elected I intend to work hard to ensure our voice is heard and our unique and specific needs are represented at the consultation table.
As of recently ITB has adopted a national approach to staffing and this has caused some challenges in staffing in the region. While staffing is not part of the collective agreement we are still able to provide some significant feedback in terms of what we believe is a better approach. I intend to propose your ideas forward till a better organic and streamlined methodology can be adopted.
It would be my honor and privilege to serve you in this capacity and I look forward to promoting and fostering a greater level of engagement from the CS ranks.
Thank you for your time and consideration and most important for your trust and support.
In solidarity and in service,
Marvin Magana
