Terri D’Souza

I’ve been with CFIA since 2016 and PIPSC since 2022. I am a female POC young worker and active union member, starting with PSAC as Local 80002 Chief Shop Steward in Dartmouth, NS for 2 terms. I took a position at the Burnaby Lab and within weeks of relocating to BC, was elected Local 20044 Vice President. Shortly after, I was elected to the BC Regional Executive Council as the Young Workers’ Representative. In this role, I sat on both the PSAC National and BCFED Young Workers’ Committees. Additionally, I was on the CFIA Bargaining Team for PSAC but only participated for a short time due to meeting delays and having to step down after taking on my PIPSC-represented position in 2022. Since joining PIPSC, I joined the Young Professionals’ Executive Committee, was elected to the BC/YK Regional Executive, currently planning the Fraser Valley AGM, and will undergo Steward training. I will bring a unique perspective to the CFIA S&A Executive as I worked for CFIA in 3 provinces under 3 different classifications, levels, and branches, and was a term employee for 6 years. I hope to assist on active grievances and contribute to helping CFIA members in any way.
