Syed A Bukhari - NRC-RO/RCO

Syed A Bukhari received M.S. degree in condense matter physics from the University of Alberta,

Edmonton, Canada, in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree in Chemical engineering from the University of Alberta.

He is currently working as Assistant Research Officer with National Research Council Canada where he is part of developmental analytical microscopy (DAM) group in Nanotechnology research center (NRC-NANO) in Edmonton Canada. His primary work is to develop macro to atom scale contacts using STM and related lithographic techniques. His Ph.D. research was to study phase change materials using low thermal mass MEMS systems for developing physical/chemical/biological sensors, opto-electronic switches, IR cameras

and multistable frequency tuning systems. He received the Best Poster Award for a poster presentation in the International Workshop on Nanomechical Sensing (NMC) held in Incheon, South Korea, in June 2018.

He also received the Gordon J. Kaplan Award for Outstanding Research from the University of Alberta in 2018. He received the Best Oral Talk Award from the Faculty of Engineering, in 2018. He worked as a Volunteer with Graduate physics student association, Graduate student association, Engineering student association and government of Alberta.
