Stephan Grosse
Stephan is a German native who came to live and work in Canada in 2000. He is presently a Senior Research Officer within the Aquatic and Crop Resource Development (ACRD) Research Center at the NRC in Montreal. Stephan holds a Master’s degree in Biology, and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Leipzig (Germany).
He joined the NRC-RO/RCO executive for the first time in 2016 and became a PIPSC steward shortly after. Since then, Stephan has worked within the NRC-RO/RCO executive to improve working conditions and to address issues of his fellow RO/RCO members through consultation with senior NRC management on national (Joint consultation committee, JCC) and local level (Local labour management consultation committee, LLMCC). He became RO/RCO Chief steward in 2017 and has worked together with PIPSC EROs on several member cases including performance improvement plans, lay-offs, promotion and probation issues, etc. He is also a member of the current bargaining team.
