I want to join the Excutive because this is a challenging time for union members, public servants, and Canadians and we need a highly effective Executive to support members and PIPSC. I bring two decades of experience on non-profit boards and committees to the Executive and strong skills in collaborating and networking - supporting people and organizations to work together to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. We, as SH and PIPSC representatives, need to find common ground with like-minded partners such as national health professional organizations, so that Canadians understand what health services bring to Canada nationally. The current geo-political and economic climates do not favour unions or unionists and current messaging from governments poses real risks for many members who are not in the favoured industries or departments. It is also a challenging time for bargaining and we need to give bargaining teams the best chance of success. By positioning SH and our members as fundamental to Canada and Canadians, and seeking out and fostering partnerships, I believe the Executive can achieve positive outcomes for members, and I can help make this happen. *Written without AI
