Sana Abou-Shaaban for NCR Representative

Sana Abou-ShaabenSana Abou-Shaaban (ENG-04) is a Strategic Engineering Advisor at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), a licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng), and an active PIPSC Steward and Ottawa East Branch Executive member.

She is dedicated to strengthening the collective voice of members and advancing fairness, equity, and transparency in the workplace. Sana has held leadership roles with PIPSC, Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), and IEEE, where she built consensus, advanced member priorities, and supported strong governance.

As co-founder of the CBSA Women in Information, Science and Technology Network (Women in STEM Network), she has championed inclusion and representation. Beyond CBSA, she has served in leadership roles across several national and international non-profit engineering organizations, where she has led numerous equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives. Her ability to drive change across diverse platforms makes her a unique and influential leader.

Her leadership has been recognized nationally, including the Government of Canada’s 2024 Public Service Award of Excellence. She is also an active public speaker on equity, diversity, inclusion, leadership, and essential professional skill sets.
