Rong Wang

Dear friends and colleagues, the time to act is now. The costs of living have skyrocketed since the pandemic. We all saw our wages not keeping up with costs of living and being stretched to their limits. This is especially true for the BC and Yukon regions. Furthermore, the erosion on our professions by the ever-increasing Contacting Out practices make it harder to recruit, retain and develop professionals. My goal is to increase the voice of young and mid-career professionals in the NR Executive Committee, to fight for fair wages, and to stop De-professionalization and Contracting Out practices. The situation only becomes harder to fix if we delay our actions.

My name is Rong (Sunny) Wang. I have been a PIPSC member since 2016; and a steward and an executive member of the Vancouver Island NR Sub-Group and Victoria Branch since 2018. I am currently the Regional Engineer (ENG) for the DND Real Property Group Pacific HQ located in Victoria. I am results driven, and love to take up meaningful challenges. I hope to have your supports and to become a voice for you.
