Dear IT-TI Group colleagues,

I’m standing for the presidency of the IT Group Executive, because I firmly believe that we deserve strong, innovative representation in a constantly evolving sector.

My commitment and dedication to the members of the IT-TI Group and to PIPSC know no bounds.

My experience with the IT Group at national level and with PIPSC:

  • IT Group Vice-President nominated and elected since 2013
  • Regular Executive member since 2007
  • IT Group Bargaining Team member
  • 2017 PIPSC Delegate of the Year for the National Capital Region (NCR)
  • Former President of the Ottawa Métro CS Sub-Group from 2007 to 2023
  • Former Executive member of the NCR
  • CS (IT) Member for 25 years
  • PIPSC Steward since 2007
  • Shared Services Canada Consultation Team Active members.

We IT professionals are the lifeblood of the digital economy and government, yet our rights and working conditions are often overlooked.

I’m convinced that our union needs to adapt to the realities of the digital world and governmental change. This means:

  • Negotiate collective agreements that reflect new forms of work: Telecommuting, flexible working hours, the right to disconnect and, of course, fair compensation for our highly specialized skills.
  • Fighting against job instability: There are too many contracts with large consulting firms in government, and they shouldn’t mean insecurity for IT members.
  • Promoting continuing education: IT is evolving at lightning speed. The union must be a partner in developing our skills, by negotiating training budgets and facilitating access to certification. The PIPSC Navigar portal was created for exactly this purpose.
  • Defending ethics and responsibility: As IT professionals, we have a crucial role to play in building a fairer, more transparent digital world. The union must be a strong voice for ethics in technological development.
  • Creating a close-knit community: Organize events, workshops and online forums (podcasts) to encourage exchange and mutual support.

I’m a candidate who listens, who understands the challenges we face, and who is determined to act. I’m convinced that, together, we can build a strong, modern and influential IT Group, capable of defending our interests and shaping the future of IT work.

I commit to the following:

  • Be transparent and accessible.
  • Implement effective, two-way communication.
  • Work as a team with all union members.

Thank you,
