The bargaining teams representing the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada-AVE group and the Government of New Brunswick met on June 2, 2022 to negotiate the renewal of the collective agreement that expired on May 31, 2019.
The teams are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement was reached and both sides committed to seek ratification as quickly as possible. It was also agreed to continue to respect the confidential nature of their discussions until the proposed agreement has been ratified.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the start of negotiations with the employer took longer than expected and we preferred a short term agreement to protect the proposed wage increases. The next round of bargaining is scheduled to begin in the fall and will address the full range of demands.
Regular members in good standing will receive the voting instructions by email. Ensure your contact information is up to date so that you can participate in the vote.
