Michael Elliott - SP Group

I'm Michael Elliott and I would like to be considered for a position on the national executive of the SP Group. I have worked as a meteorologist in Montreal since 2004. I became a PIPSC Steward to represent my colleagues, and especially the needs of operational shift workers in 2011. From 2012 to 2018 I restarted the SP-Montreal subgroup, became its president, and gained a greater understanding of the needs of scientists in a number of departments in the region. I have participated in numerous national meetings, AGMs and bargaining planning sessions organized by the SP group. After reducing my union roles in recent years to focus on my two young sons, I would like again to have the opportunity to participate in bettering the conditions of scientists and professionals at the national SP Group level.
