Mohammad Khakbazan - RE Group
Dr. Mohammad Khakbazan is a Research Scientist at Brandon Research and Development Centre. He has been working for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada since September 2001. Dr. Khakbazan has been an executive board member of the RE group for the last two years and has also served as an executive board member of PIPSC Winnipeg and Southern Region for the last five years. He is currently a PIPSC steward and has worked closely with members to resolve their issues and concerns. Dr. Khakbazan has organized many PIPSC events and activities including PIPSC open house, AGMs, lunch and learn and summer activities for PIPSC members in Brandon and the wider Manitoba region. He is actively involved in RE group activities and has recently worked with other RE members to form a RE sub-group for the Southern Manitoba region, as well as worked with other stewards to engage new members in PIPSC activities and provide information about their rights and collective agreement. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Saskatchewan and Brandon University, and a member of the Soil and Water Conservation Society’s Science and Policy Committee. As an associate editor for the Journal of Soil and Water Conservation, Dr. Khakbazan has also published or co-authored close to 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals, and his research has been reported in numerous abstracts, presentations/posters, and technology transfer items.
