AFS Election - Michael Kenny

To Union Members:

My name is Michael Kenny and I am running for the position of Headquarters Region Representative. I am respectfully asking that you vote for me to help bring your voices forward to the National level.

I have been employed with the CRA for 18 years and held positions in Acceptance Testing, Audit, Criminal Investigations and Headquarters Divisions. I have worked in both non-managerial and supervisory roles, which has provided me with more knowledge when dealing with solutions to issues created between management and employees.

During my experience in the union on a variety of levels, in different roles. I have successfully represented many members in grievance, disciplinary, compensation, and other workplace related matters. My passion is to work with members to reduce their stresses, ensure their voices are heard and achieve solutions in the workplace.

In the recent years, I helped co-create a union young professional network committee and held many events to allow members to meet others, become informed of the union and providing tools for them to help others.

If elected, I will fight to keep and better our pay increases, sick leave, and pensions. As a father of 5 children, I will continue to promote a better work / life balance. I will ensure more openly communicated staffing processes and push for professionalism at all levels. I will advocate for more rights to work in a respectful and professional work environment. Most importantly, I will actively listen and engage with you to find solutions for your issues and that you are properly informed.
