Dear Members,

Electing your Regional Representative is no small matter—you’re deciding who you want to negotiate your collective agreement, represent and defend your interests with the employer, and support the President and the Stewards. 

I encourage you to vote between August 14 and September 8. I’m seeking your support for the following reasons: 

  1. Being bilingual, my fluency in English is a valuable asset in the Committees’ dealings with the employer in Ottawa.
  2. I have been on the bargaining team for the past two Collective Agreements—the first round resulted in one of the best wage increases in the entire public service, while the last round saw us achieve an even higher increase.
  3. I am highly skilled at communicating and debating constructively with the employer to boldly defend your interests. 
  4. I have seven years of experience in this position and my in-depth knowledge of policies and collective agreements will help me resolve issues effectively.
  5. I’m taking our members’ safety during the COVID-19 pandemic seriously and am making sure the employer doesn’t use this situation to curtail your benefits.
  6. My proactive approach helps me prevent and resolve problems, especially in staff-related matters.

It has been an honour serving as your Regional Representative for the last seven years. As a motivated, principled, receptive and experienced candidate, I’m asking for your support once again.
