John Eng - NR Group

As an active PIPSC Steward/NR member employed in the NCR.  I am seeking your support for re-election to the NR National Executive.  To remain current with the latest strategies/development initiatives, I attended PIPSC AGMs, Executive/Steward training courses, and acquired knowledge via self-paced PIPSC Learning Centre’s on-line learning program. 

I was awarded the prestige Steward of the Year Award for my activism and support in representing our members in dealings with management by defending their rights.

As an active participant on several of PIPSC’s Executive Groups, it affords me the important opportunity to represent member who are suffering due to problems with the Phoenix Pay System and their concerns with protecting sick leave/wellness & support policies.  I hope to contribute to shaping PIPSC’s critical responses to the present challenges to our Defined Benefit Pension Plans of federal public servants.  The Government’s Bill C-27 is introducing the Target Benefit Plans which will reduce significantly the pension safeguards, which must be challenged.
