Dear Colleagues,

The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, often referred to as White Ribbon Day, is a somber day observed annually in Canada on December 6th. This day commemorates the tragic École Polytechnique massacre of 1989, where armed student Marc Lépine murdered fourteen women and injured fourteen others in a misogynistic act.

You are cordially invited to attend the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women Event, which will be held in the library event space at 580 Booth St., to honor the victims of this tragic event. Note that since Dec 6th falls on a Saturday this year, our commemorative event will be held on Friday, Dec 5th.

  • Date: December 5th, 2025
  • Time: 11 a.m.
  • Location: 580 Booth St. library.

This event will provide an opportunity to reflect, remember, and unite as a community. We will observe a moment of silence, listen to poignant speeches, and participate in lighting candles and placing a wreath.

We look forward to your presence.

Best regards,

Pierre Gallant
