Dear NR Members, NCR,
 

It gives me great pleasure to offer myself as a candidate for the NR national executive. As a NR executive member, we must foresee and prepare for federal budgetary cuts that will impact on our membership; collective agreements, contracting out, career development, and return to office (RTO) are important issues. I have over 25 years’ experience through bargaining and past national experience with the NR executive, and am currently president of NR subgroup, NRCAN, NCR.


The subgroup is in the process of creating a new by-law termed “Young Professional Liaison” officer. The clause has been approved by the PIPSC BLPC. As a member of the NR executive, I will push to have such language included in all NR constituent bodies. The importance of such language is that it is formally recognized through by-law and the purpose of the creation of the by-law for this new role, is to attract and obtain young professionals to the institute executive bodies.


In-addition to supporting members careers, I have assisted in developing a term of reference (TOR) to create a new professional development committee under collective agreements article 18.07 to address professional career development needs of all NR members. This committee is now in place and will confidently help to provide support to members career aspirations.
In Closing, my aspiration is that I can count on your support and vote to continue improving NR member’s workplace.
