Good day. My name is Tamara Critch, a regular member in good standing and I am honoured to announce that I am once again running Member-At-Large. Over the past three years, I’ve consistently stepped up to take on any role that needed filling—without concern for high-profile positions—because I believe in supporting our members in whatever capacity is needed. My goal has always been to ensure our members are well-represented and supported, and I’m ready to again bring that same commitment.

While also serving on other PIPSC constituent bodies, I’ve had the privilege of serving in several key positions within the IT Group, including:

• IT Group National Executive – Steward Officer, Communications Officer, and Secretary
• IT Halifax Subgroup Executive – Vice President
• IT Contract Proposal Committee
• IT Group National Organizing Committee
• IT Ottawa Metro Sub-Group Executive – Member-at-Large (two terms)
• IT Ottawa West Sub-Group Executive – Member-at-Large, Secretary
• PIPSC Steward

In each of these roles, I’ve worked to ensure that the voices of our members are heard, supported initiatives that improve our working conditions, and helped build stronger, more connected teams. My experience as a Steward and Communications Officer has given me a deep understanding of the issues that matter most to our members and the skills needed to bring about positive change.

I firmly believe in fairness, transparency, and empowerment. If elected, my goal is to continue advocating for the issues that affect our members and ensure that every voice is heard. I am committed to working with the Group Executive to ensure that our group’s objectives remain aligned with the needs of the members we serve.

My hope is that you will support my nomination to the Group Executive so that I may bring my perspective and act as your representative. If successful, some of the points I would focus on, but not limited to are:

• negotiate a fair collective agreement
• minimize the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on our member’s positions
• represent equity portion of the IT group
• assist with the Executive's committee on the contracting out initiative
