The Pay Equity Committee met regularly over the past several months but were not able to meet the September 2024 deadline imposed by legislation. A subsequent extension for the final plan was requested for January 31, 2025. However, there must be 60 days to allow for employee comments and feedback on the draft plan, bringing the last date possible to publish a draft to be December 2, 2024. Unfortunately, PIPSC believes that there is more work to be done to ensure the Pay Equity Committee’s obligations are met under the Pay Equity Act. Another extension request is in the works and hopes that the Pay Equity Committee can work together to finish the process.
