In response to the growing requests for help from PIPSC members, the union is assigning additional resources to deal with Phoenix-related issues.
Inundated by hundreds of requests, PIPSC staff have had to prioritize catastrophic situations first. These include members who have gone without pay for significant amounts of time or those who have had problems receiving EI benefits.
The union currently has hundreds of grievances filed and hundreds of other cases waiting to be processed. Our members have shown incredible professionalism and patience as these grievances and requests for help get processed. Phoenix has taken a toll on public service professionals and their families.
