Nadeem Shaikh
Dear Members,
I am a seasoned IM/IT professional with 20+ years of public/private sector experience. Nearly 6 years of my professional experience is with SSC in the field of project management and service delivery management. My passion stems in the field of service delivery excellence ensuring that our Partners get the exceptional level of care and professionalism for their day-to-day operational and strategic business needs. In my line, people do matter and this is where my business acumen has evolved over the years in shaping my philosophy and approach in becoming more connected with our grassroot members.
Who Am I?
In essence, I am a family man where my spouse is presently an Administrator at the Toronto District School Board. I too have two charismatic teenagers, a daughter who is in 1st year University, and a son in Grade 12 looking to start his post-secondary studies this September. Like many other households we are no different when it comes to juggling extracurricular activities, grocery shopping, etc. During my rare downtime I am fortunate to engage in my newest passion...GOLF! I love hitting the driving range and playing the various courses in my area.
Why Do I want to Serve on the IT Group Executive?
Serving is very important to me as I am an individual who considers myself as a grassroot representative. I love to meet our members and understand their issues and concerns about their work and personal lives. Many of my colleagues have spoken to me on matters that affect them from promotional opportunities, the benefits we presently rely upon, and most importantly looking forward to their retirement years. These issues are extremely important and require strong leadership.
For our day-to-day work activities uncertainty exists among certain groups on whether the work they are performing will be there in the future, how AI may impact their day-to-day functions, and most importantly addressing conflicts and resolution. All of these factors impact our day-to-day performance, and too require strong leadership, understanding, and most importantly flexibility.
To Conclude
The IT Executive Group is our primary representation in ensuring our Members are given the platform to advocate for their rights and expectations in their day-to-day work. Many of our members are addressing mental health and fatigue which is impacting our productivity and performance. A sound platform needs to be in place, and for this I seek your support in championing your causes and ensuring you receive the dignity and foundation to continue with your professional and personal experiences.
