Michael Radzichowsky
I was born and raised in the east end of Montreal as a 3rd generation Ukrainian within a French speaking milieu. I have over 40 years of experience in both the private and public sectors starting my career in 1981 at British Petroleum as a Cobol programmer in Toronto and then at Petro Canada as a programmer analyst in Toronto and Montreal. My career then led me to Ottawa where I became an independent contractor working on contracts for the Red Cross, The Royal Ottawa Health Group and then many smaller contracts with various small GoC departments. In 1990, I obtained a contract as a mainframe automation systems analyst at CCRA and Canada Customs. In 2004, I joined the GoC as an indeterminate employee at CRA/CBSA. During my time at CRA/CBSA, I have worked on many high-profile projects such as GST, NETFILE, Y2 and numerous Border Security Systems. I progressed to perform other significant roles in the domains of Security (ACF2/TSS), Internet (WebSphere), Network, Compute (z/OS, z/VM) as a software analyst, technical architect, and engineer where I was classed as a level 3 support resource. In January of 2013, I joined SSC where I have worked on some of SSC largest projects such as the ECCC Supercomputer Replacement at $630M, DND Borden Data Center Relocation at $62M, Dorval Data Center Relocation at $90M and the DND DRMIS Disaster Recovery Enhancement at $15M.
My most recent role as an acting director (IT-05) for 2.5 years at SSC and former roles as Senior IT PM and Senior IT Architect are a testament to my IM/IT domain experience. My academic credentials which include an EMBA (Queens) and a BCs (Carleton) have allowed me to build a strong foundation from which to continuously improve. I am fully bilingual with a CBC linguistic profile and I hold a security profile of Secret ERS+(SSC) and Secret(RCMP) both expiring in 2033.
The combination of my professional experience and academic credentials from the computer science and business administration domains, security credentials, successes from leading large IM/IT teams to deliver complex and high value projects, and my recent acting director role showcase the breadth and depth of my capabilities as a digital leader. My integrity and collaboration have served to mobilize people to achieve results. These markers demonstrate my readiness in creating further vision and strategy to promote greater Innovation and Change leading in the delivery of cost effective and right sized digital solutions for the GoC.
Given my extensive and significant IT credentials over 40 years, I am well positioned to understand the current challenges and opportunities facing the GoC IT community and to offer concrete solutions/plans to address these issues and realize opportunities.
Enfin, cette opportunité me permettrait la chance de partager mon expérience dans le domaine d`informatique et de technologies de l’information.
