Maya Kassab - 2023 Election Autobiography

Fellow Members, 

My name is Maya Kassab.  I started working at NAV CANADA in 2003 and am presently a Business Analyst in Technology under Workday product delivery group.

The past 14 years as a union representative allowed me to work closely with many of you and taught me how to overcome challenges and to do what is best for the members collectively. 

My priority is to protect your rights and will work hard to improve your benefits and to better your wages. 

My PIPSC Experience: 

  • Member-at-Large for the Group Executive from 2011 to present 
  • Member of the bargaining group since 2017 
  • PIPSC Steward since 2009 
  • Executive Treasurer summer 2021 to winter 2022
  • East sub-group treasurer since 2015 

Completed PIPSC advanced training courses: 

  • Harassment 
  • Health and Safety 
  • Grievance 
  • Bullying 
  • Discipline 
  • Consultation 
  • Duty to Accommodate 

Helped organizing lunch and learns for East sub group 

Keep members up-to-date on union activities, assisting members with resolving workplace conflicts and performance issues, answering questions, some pertaining to our collective agreement and other NCJC policies.
