Laurel O'Connor
Laurel O'Connor brings over 35 years of applied research and business management experience to the Group Executive Committee, where she has served for the past three years and recently became President. She previously worked at NRC as a Business Development Officer for 11 years and holds both an MBA and a Master's in International Trade.
Laurel has actively represented her NRC colleagues in various volunteer roles, including the Group Bargaining Committee, the Central Table Bargaining Committee, and the Executive Committee. Joining the Collective Agreement Bargaining Committee, Laurel aimed to engage more deeply in union activities and achieve the best outcomes for members. Her collaborative approach contributed to successful negotiations at both the group and central table levels.
As President of the Executive Group, Laurel works to ensure that negotiated concessions are honored. Through her involvement in the Strategic Bargaining and Advisory Council Committees, as well as collaboration with other group presidents, she continues to advocate for transparency and timely communication from PIPSC regarding actions that impact members.
