National Steward Officer
Have you been a PIPSC steward for at least 5 years and are looking for more involvement with your union on a larger scale?
PIPSC is looking for a National Steward Officer (NSO) to take on an important role as a main resource for all stewards starting in May 2024. This is a one-year commitment, with the possibility of renewal.
The NSO is a full-time steward position and will act as the main point of contact with stewards for onboarding, training and development. They’ll improve the steward experience and engagement on a national level.
Necessary qualifications:
- At least 5 years experience as a PIPSC steward
- Experience communicating written and verbal information through service requests or presentations
- Advanced computer literacy and very comfortable working in an online environment
- Demonstrated experience as an active steward through engagement in member activities, issues, and with PIPSC staff
- Strong organization skills to identify and understand relevant information within complex channels
- Demonstrated leadership skills to influence and engage a diverse group of people
- Experience in research and analysis of data sets
- Experience building beginning-to-end processes with the intent to share information and resources
- Willingness and ability to explore and learn new software applications as required
Asset qualifications:
- Bilingualism
- Strong understanding of PIPSC and its values
- Familiarity with online resource-sharing tools
- Experience building a network of connections across an organization to develop and foster relationships

Additional information:
- This is a hybrid/remote position – you don’t have to live in the NCR
- Some travel may be required (normal travel policy applies)
