Kathleen Emberson - RE Group
I am a Survey Methodologist at Statistics Canada, where I began my career in the public service in 2002.
I have been involved in the RE STC-CEO-PWGSC NCR subgroup since 2005, having held the position of president or vice president for 10 of the last 12 years. In 2008, I became a PIPSC steward. I have been a member of the Statistics Canada Branch for the past 6 years and I am a member of the Statistics Canada National Consultation Team, currently holding a position on the Workplace Health and Safety Committee.
Ensuring the fair treatment and compensation for all employees is one of my core values. As a mother of a young child, I have a particular interest in issues facing families with children. In these times of great pressure, I am particularly driven to ensure that the mental health of all of our members is foremost in the mind of the employer. I want to make sure that parents are not left behind as we all navigate this pandemic and that we all have the supports we need to come through this crisis.
I joined the RE Group Executive with a view of becoming more involved in contract negotiations. I have learned a lot more about the other classifications of the RE Group in my 3 and a half years on the executive. I would like to continue to learn more so I can better represent all the members of our group.
I hope you will give me the opportunity to continue to represent you on the executive.
