Jeanette McDonald Corbin, R.N.
NU-EMA, Medical Adjudicator
Chatham, ON

I have been working as a Registered Nurse since 1995 in various positions; community nursing, hospital, a specialist’s office and for Telehealth Ontario. In October 2007, I began working in my current position as a Medical Adjudicator in the Chatham office serving Canadians as part of one of the largest teams of medical adjudicators in Canada.

My passion is about supporting members by recognizing that we have both shared countrywide issues as well as individual workplace concerns. My goal has always been to unite the members and improve the workplace. Today, we are all faced with ever changing processes. I recognize the importance of good communication with all members across Canada. We make positive change and become stronger together with input from you (the member), involvement with our national consultation team, and support from our National SH Executive Team.

Union involvement:

2015 Member-at-large on our local Essex/Kent SH sub-group. I wanted to learn more about the role of the relatively new PIPSC union in the workplace.

2016 Elected President of the Essex/Kent SH sub-group and served a 2-year term.

2016, 2017, & 2018 Invited to participate at a National Consultation Symposium.

2016 Invited to attend the National Annual General Meeting by the SH Group as an observer.

2017 Invited to participate as a delegate at the ON Regional Council.

2017 Invited to participate as a delegate at the SH Annual General Meeting.

2017 Invited to participate as a delegate for the ON Region at the National Annual General Meeting.

2017 Essex/Kent sub-group secured additional funding through the SH Executive Committee to purchase tote bags for members to improve visibility of PIPSC union in our workplace.

2018 Re-elected President of the Essex/Kent SH sub-group and served a 1-year term.

2018 In response to our members’ expressed need for education pertaining to bargaining and the proposed Wellness Support Program, our sub-group secured additional funding and organized an evening Information Session with our National SH Executive Member/Bargaining Team Representative.

2018 Invited to participate as a delegate at the ON Regional Council.

It has been my privilege to serve as an active steward since 2016 supporting members with their individual concerns.

Your vote matters! It would be an honour for me to represent you on the National SH Executive Committee in 2021.
