Jay Sengupta

My name is Jay Sengupta and I am an Electrical Engineer (BASc, MASc, University of Waterloo) employed as an ENG in the Information Management (IM) Group at the Department of National Defence (DND). I came to work in the public sector later in my career, having worked in the private sector (Bell, Nortel, Honeywell), a tech start-up (Spotwave Wireless) as well as in an inter-governmental organization (Inmarsat). The economy, and along with it, the employment landscape is rapidly changing, with labour/skills shortages, rapid technological changes, increasing cost of living and high levels of debt. The NR Executive must be ready and able to advocate for your interests and your profession, in dealing with your union PIPSC and your employer. I believe my varied experience in both the private and public sector, and in different types of organizations large and small, gives me a unique perspective to represent you on NR Executive Committee.  I am proud to be an Engineer, and would be honoured to represent you, fellow Engineers, if I am elected.
