Jacob Beaulieu

With a passion for advocacy, a deep understanding of IT professionals' challenges, and a commitment to service, I, Jacob Beaulieu, am honoured to submit my nomination for the Information Technology (IT) Group Executive within PIPSC.

As an experienced IT professional, I recognize the evolving nature of our field, the pressures we face, and the importance of strong union leadership in protecting our rights. From cybersecurity threats to workplace burnout and the need for fair compensation, IT professionals encounter numerous obstacles. Over the past three years, I have become increasingly active in my union, building on over 15 years of experience working in unionized environments. Reinforcing my commitment to fairness, transparency, and collective action to create positive change.

My leadership approach is collaborative, solutions-driven, and transparent. I believe in proactive advocacy, ensuring members’ voices are heard and acted upon. Whether negotiating for better working conditions, addressing workplace concerns, or securing the recognition IT professionals deserve, I am committed to fighting for what matters most.

My Priorities If Elected:

Stronger Representation – Ensuring IT professionals have a voice in decision-making processes that affect their careers and work environments. I will work to address skills shortages and the impact of automation on our roles, ensuring we remain valued and respected.

Fair Compensation and Work-Life Balance – Advocating for equitable wages and policies that reflect IT professionals' evolving roles. We should not be overworked without proper recognition or support.

Expanding Remote Work Options – Protecting and expanding remote work opportunities, ensuring flexibility without unnecessary restrictions. Securing remote work environments from cyber threats.

Transparency and Accountability – Upholding fairness and integrity in union dealings. I will push for better communication channels and stronger member engagement to keep everyone informed.

Defending Member Rights – Advocating for clear union policies to challenge any future medical or religious mandates, ensuring members’ rights are protected.

Improving Financial Transparency – Ensuring union funds are managed openly, giving members clear insight into financial decisions.

Member Engagement and Advocacy – Encouraging greater participation in union activities and empowering members with tools to protect their rights. IT professionals deserve a union that actively fights for their interests and ensures their contributions are acknowledged.

I firmly believe that a strong, united IT group within PIPSC can drive real, meaningful change. By addressing our challenges head-on and prioritizing solutions that benefit all members, I am committed to making a lasting impact. With your support, I will bring my dedication, experience, and passion to the IT Group Executive to ensure that our collective interests are well represented.

Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to the opportunity to serve you.
