NR Group 2019 Election - Lynn Mayes

As member of the Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors (NR) National Executive, a member of the Bargaining Team and an active steward, working at DND, I am seeking your support for re-election to the NR National Executive. It would be an honour to continue to represent you.

I have been a PIPSC member since 2002, an active Steward since 2009 and an NR Executive member since 2015. In 2018, I was elected to the National Bargaining Team, which is the prime purpose of the Group. I have dedicated many hours assisting unfairly treated members, attending training courses to better serve our members and actively participating in National and NR Group AGMs.

Since October 2014, I have represented NRs on the national bargaining team with Treasury Board, the DND National Consultation Team and PIPSC members at the Level 1 Labour/Management Consultation. My objectives include:

  • Identifying and expressing NR Group concerns to Treasury Board and at consultation
  • Conveying the Institute’s objectives and decisions to members and the employer.
  • Referring systemic and unresolved issues to national level consultation
  • Disseminating information to stewards

In 2016, I was awarded the PIPSC NCR Executive Member of the Year.

As a member of the NR Group executive, I have been able to use my involvement with the National Consultation Team to strengthen communications and interactions between the NR Group Executive, sub-groups and group members. We all need to work together.
