This is to inform you that the Negotiations Committee, consisting of Robert Séguin, Cory Graham, Laura Robson, Brent Hartmann, and Harald Larsen, has reached a tentative agreement with the Province on November 21, 2024.
 

After lengthy negotiations, some significant improvements have been achieved on behalf of Engineers. The MAGE Negotiations Committee unanimously recommends acceptance of this tentative agreement by the Group's members.

This new contract would expire on March 19, 2027, and includes cumulative and compounded salary increases of at least 18% for all Engineers over the life of the agreement.
 

Highlights of this five-year agreement include:

·General wage increases of 2.0% (2022), 2.5% (2023), 2.75% (2024), 3.0% (2025) and 3.0% (2026).

·The addition of a new step (an additional 3.0%) at the top of each wage scale, and advancement of all members to the next step of their wage scale, effective March 23, 2024.

·A 1.5% Special Adjustment applied to classifications EG-1, EG-2 and EE-1, effective October 5, 2024.

·A 0.75% Special Adjustment applied to classifications EG-3, EG-4, EG-5, EE-2, EE-3 and EE-4, effective October 5, 2024.

·The addition of a new 20-year long service step (an additional 2.0%), effective October 4, 2024.

·The addition of a new 25-year long service step (an additional 2.0%), effective October 18, 2025.

·A one-time lump-sum signing bonus of $1,800 per full-time Engineer ($900 for part-time Engineers);

·Improvements to member health benefits, including two personal wellness days.

·Access to premium overtime for classifications EG-4 and EE-3.

 

More information will follow, including a full summary of the tentative agreement, along with a ratification package for your consideration.  We are organising information sessions (hybrid/virtual) for members to attend.
