Special Abbreviated Seasonal Executive Meeting

The President of the IT Ottawa Metro Subgroup (ITOMSG), Randy Oomen, welcomed the other Executives and called the meeting to order at 12:30 PM.
AGENDA
A draft agenda was presented.
MOTION To adopt the agenda as presented. M/S Fred Curson, Cheryl Jennings. Carried.
MINUTES
The draft minutes of the September 9, 2025, meeting were presented.
MOTION To adopt the minutes as presented. M/S Steve Anderson, Cheryl Jennings. Carried.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Randy Oomen informed the Executive that he was seriously injured in September, and he apologized for the resulting lapse in Metro event planning. However, he is slowly healing and is planning to send out an email to the Executive members during December. The email will be to start planning a movie night for the members in January, a bowling night for the members in January, and a dinner night for the members at the Diefenbunker. In addition, the Steering Committee will begin discussing some possible dates for the Metro AGM to be held in February, and this will be circulated to the Executive for a vote. The Metro Elections Committee will be formed after the PIPSC AGM, with the intent that there will be lots of time to prepare for Metro Executive elections. All those interested in running for the various open Executive positions are encouraged to put their names forward prior to the last call for names at the AGM itself.
During the festive season all Executives are encouraged to buy boxes of half donuts / half muffins and place these with a prominent note of thanks from Metro in all buildings, and on all floors, where our Metro members work. Executives are encouraged to also post PIPSC posters on the appropriate bulletin boards as they move around placing the donut boxes. Randy Oomen would also like to see posters go up on all floors that will advertise the Metro AGM in advance.
ROUNDTABLE
Cheryl Jennings will organize a dinner for all the Metro Executives attending the PIPSC AGM this year.
NEXT MEETING
The next Metro Executive meeting will be held sometime in January 2026. No firm date or venue has been set.
