CFIA S&A - Frederick Jamieson

Fred Jamieson, Food Safety Recall Specialist, Ottawa, Ontario. I have worked in the federal Public Service and been a member of the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada, for over 26 years.

I ask for your support to re-elect me as one of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency Scientific and Analytical Group Member-at-large from the National Capital Region.

Experience:

Institute Steward (1997-2002)

Scientific and Analytical Group steward and group executive member (2002-2011) & (since 2016)

Scientific and Analytical Group Executive:

Bargaining team chair and member of Institute’s Strategic Bargaining Committee (since October 2016);

Member-at-large and secretary (since December 2016);

Election Committee Chair (2017);

By-laws Committee member (since September 2017);

National Consultation team member (since January 2018);

Employer Informal Conflict Management System Advisory Committee (since April 2018). 

Separate employer representative on Institute’s Employee Wellness Support Program Advisory Team (since August 2017). 

My on-going commitment is to use my experience to resolve the SR and ES classification concerns; assist in bargaining to improve salaries and benefits in a timelier manner; address all other collective agreement and human resource issues that affect our professional members and recruit new stewards.
